Update, answered
Getting on Slipstream.
What the update takes, what it costs, and what runs it.
How do I update to Slipstream?
Open the companion, click your avatar, and choose Check for updates. Slipstream installs in the background and picks up right where you left off — about a minute, no reinstall.
Does the update cost anything?
No. Slipstream is a free update for every My Rio seat.
Which Macs does it run on?
macOS 13 or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
Which languages does the proofreader speak, and does it need the internet?
Grammar and clarity checks run on native macOS text intelligence, on-device, and now cover six languages — switching automatically with your text. No server round-trip, no waiting on a spinner.
Will my drafts really go out under my name?
Yes — your tone, your sign-off, and no robotic 'sent by an assistant' footer. Internal review labels stay internal and can't ride along on a real send, and you review every word before it leaves.
Are the speed and footprint numbers guaranteed?
They're illustrative of this release. Real-world speed, wake time, and battery impact vary by Mac, macOS version, workload, and configuration.
Answers describe how the My Rio product is designed and are for general information — not a guarantee or verified client result. My Rio is an Apex Intelligence product; est. 2026, just getting started.
